ReSharper 4.5 Rocks!

11 Sep

This is shout out for JetBrains’ ReSharper 4.5 for Visual Studio! Probably not the first praise for the product but I am so impressed I had to say something!

My trial version of the product ran out two days ago and my initial thoughts where that I coud survive with out it! Boy was I wrong!

After about an hour of using Visual Studio without ReSharper I realised how reliant on it I was! Not to mention that my productivity went down ten fold without it.

So, without hesitation, I jumped on the JetBrains site and purchased a copy of this fantastic software!

The most useful features include:

  • Refactoring, mainly renaming of variables and functions
  • Code completion stubs and enhancements
  • The “Navigate from Here too” menu, especially the usage function. The fact that it can drive the usage from a base class of an interface is awesome!
  • Coding suggestions like potential null reference exceptions

These features and many more have made me a better developer and I believe ReSharper is a must have for any developer using Visual Studio!

Keep up the great work JetBrains!
